My Story So Far…
As a Toronto DJ with over 30 years of experience, I truly feel what I have to offer my clients is a unique mix of my passions, and experiences.
On top of being a Toronto DJ, I also have a background in radio broadcasting, and audio production. I’m also a musician.
It’s this unique blend of backgrounds, that makes me who I am and makes what I do so unique.
Music has always been a driving force in my life. It reminds me of who I am, where I have been, and where I have yet to go. I love many genres of music, and artists.
I grew up listening to the British new wave bands like New Order & Depeche Mode. But I love and listen to everything across the board, from Alternative, Dance Disco, Hip Hop, Reggae, and more.
The Early Years
Growing up in Pickering, Ontario, a new “teen” dance club opened its doors I started going and having fun. Eventually, I started talking to the DJ about what it was like doing his job, why he started doing it.
Lucky for me the DJ was kind enough to offer to teach me the basics of DJ’ing. This was in the days before CD’s and Laptops, and I was taugh tto DJ on record players.
Eventually I got good at it, and he started to let me DJ sets at the club. I aIso started working with some local DJ companies.
Working at these companies was also an amazing experience for me. I started out first as an “assistant” at the parties and events, working hard to “learn the ropes” from my mentors.
Becoming a Toronto DJ
Eventually I got to the point where my training and experience grew enough that I was starting the be the “main” DJ for Toronto DJ events. I finally got my first residencies at Bars and clubs.
From there things kept growing in terms of opportunities for me.
In the early 90’s I was playingseveral bars and nightclubs, as well as working with a few DJ companies for mobile events.
It was also around this time, I befriended a local “legend” in the Toronto club scene (DJ Iain). I was starting to write and produce my own music, as well as doing remixes of songs under my persona of “303 Dreams“.
The Music
As 303 Dreams, I have done remixes for labels such as Sony, Hi Bias and EMI Music. Working with artists including Madonna, The Prodigy, New Order, Garbage, Daft Punk and many others.
I also worked as a technical producer for 2 Radio shows Iain hosted, including “The Smirnoff Experience”, dedicated to electronic music.
Also I hosted and produced my own show “Revolution Radio” that was broadcast in the UK and Online.
Meanwhile, my own work as “303 Dreams” also gained some exposure when one of my songs “Dance in The Light” was signed and released on a label in the UK. I also have songs licensed in the Canada, UK and Australia.
While my “club” career as a Toronto DJ slowed down in the late 2000’s, that is also the time that I decided to launch my own Mobile Entertainment company. I felt it was a great time for me to put my extensive skills and experence to work providing a unique wedding dj entertainment experience for my clients.
My Future as a Toronto DJ:
My passion and commitment to my clients is what I stand by. Not just in how I perform but also how I run my business and always the fact that I am always looking for ways to learn and grow. I have attended many DJ / performance conferences to fine tune my skills all for the sake of providing a unique experience for every one of my clients.
